Newsvine's own Sandy Frost earned an Honorable Mention in the Society of Professional Journalists' Excellence in Journalism Competition.
Thirty six years later, I was awarded an Honorable Mention for my "Shriner's Investigation" at Newsvine.com. I am honored to be among such lofty winners as the Seattle Times and to place before such media giants as the Seattle P-I and MSNBC.com.
I don't have the resources these guys have, yet I now stand shoulder to shoulder with them as peers of journalistic excellence. On the other hand, they probably can't do phone interviews, laundry, write and cook, all at the same time.
Well done, Sandy!

Thank you, Aine. And thank you for the RAV nomination!
Sandy
wow! that's great news Sandy. look at the other honorable mentions:
you're in good company, those are both great organizations. :-)
Dear Tom,
We are in good company, as is we who make up Newsvine.com.
Thanks again,
Sandy
Congratulations, Sandy. I've enjoyed reading your series here, though I haven't always left you comments. It's excellent that you've received an award for your efforts.
I need to apologize to all of you for being so slow in replying to everyone's generous comments. I am working on two more articles, am still trying to finish my manuscript for "The Cassandra Frost Collection," need to work on my blog and need to start to work on an e-book called "Investigations."
I want to share my awards with those who hit my blog while, at the same time, promoting Newsvine.com as a primary source for interactive news.
All of you know how much effort it takes to keep information organized and how much time it takes to write things. Sometimes it takes me weeks to gather information and days to lay out the documents on my desk and, like a jig saw puzzle, start putting the story together.
And all of us know that writing is a solitary, and even private, process. I write for the world to read and when the world responds back as all of you have, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Thank you again to everyone for your kind words, support and praise.
I look forward to the time when I can do the same for you!
Sandy
