Though Web 2.0 applications are often touted as tools for a two-way Web conversation, presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain's presence on MySpace as of Tuesday afternoon remained as interactive as an old campaign poster with a few new tricks.
Where potential supporters could once have theoretically e-mailed the senator, or added him to their "faves," stood a gaping hole.
Only hours before, the space had been occupied by some free code put together and designed by Mike Davidson, CEO and co-founder of online news site Newsvine. Davidson created the template that the McCain campaign used for the senator's MySpace page. Though the code was free, Davidson's one request was to receive credit for his work. Apparently the McCain campaign either overlooked or ignored the request, and used the template without crediting the author.
