
A relatively brand new Japanese commercial nuclear reactor was ordered shut down by a Japanese court over concerns of how well it could withstand an earthquake. People who sought the shutdown and petitioned the court pointed out it was built to withstand a 6.5 quake based on older guidelines, but government geologists said it was built near an area that could experience a 7.6 Richter scale earthquake.
